We are delighted to welcome photographer Ares Yannakopoulos (AresDKY) to our artist portfolio as of January!
Ares developed a fascination for photography as a teenager, inspired by his father’s professional camera, which he was allowed to use. His passion led him to participate in exhibitions from a young age. During his youth, he produced his first prints by hand and worked in a darkroom.
However, during high school, his focus on art began to fade. After graduating, pursuing an artistic career did not seem like an acceptable choice within his family. Instead, he took a more conventional path and began studying law. He became a lawyer and built a successful career in the field. While photography remained a hobby, it lacked an artistic focus.
Everything changed in 2016 when Ares realized that his professional path did not align with his true passion. He made the bold decision to fully dedicate himself to artistic photography.
In 2018, he held his first exhibition, showcasing landscape photography from the Kitzbühel Alps. This exhibition, hosted at Schloss Lebenberg in Kitzbühel, laid the foundation for his artistic career. Since then, Ares has exhibited his work in Germany, Austria, and Turkey and is regularly commissioned for private and commercial projects.
