Djamila Fierek Presents “Soundscapes” at Steinway & Sons Munich

Munich, March 18, 2026 – In the elegant setting of Steinway & Sons Munich, painter Djamila Fierek unveiled her new series “Soundscapes” („Klanglandschaften“) to the public for the first time last night. A select audience of art enthusiasts and collectors, business partners, friends, and media representatives gathered to admire the artist’s latest works, which she created especially for this exhibition in Scottsdale, Arizona (USA).

With “Soundscapes”, Fierek opens a new chapter in her artistic journey. For the first time, she explores abstract painting inspired by Solfeggio frequencies, translating musical impressions into powerful visual worlds. The 27 mostly large-scale acrylic-on-canvas works are characterized by intense layers of color, rhythmic structures, and dynamic movements that evoke melodies, sonic spaces, and resonances, giving the paintings a unique energetic dimension.
Driven by the question of how music can be experienced visually, Fierek has created works that do not tell a story but evoke feeling. Color fields seem to vibrate, lines intertwine like harmonious chords, while subtle nuances and contrasts unfold their own visual dramaturgy.

The choice of venue added a symbolic resonance to the presentation: in the rooms of Steinway & Sons Munich, a place renowned worldwide for musical excellence and sound culture, painting and music came together in an inspiring dialogue. Munich pianist Pablo Struff provided the perfect musical accompaniment on a red Steinway concert grand D-274, adorned with one of Fierek’s artworks. The interplay of sound and color was thus felt not only in the paintings themselves but also throughout the evening’s atmosphere.

“In Soundscapes, I translate acoustic impressions into visual forms. Sounds, rhythms, and moods become colors and lines—like a musical score that is not heard but seen,” Fierek explains about her new series.

Beyond the encounter with the new works, the evening centered on personal exchange. Guests enjoyed the opportunity to speak with the artist in a relaxed atmosphere about her inspirations, creative process, and the development of the series. Among those present were Fierek herself, her husband
Wolfgang Fierek, her mother Uta Mendil, entrepreneurs Alexandra and Marcus Asam with Mirjam, Willy Umland with Nicole, Johannes Fritz (Mercedes-Benz), jeweler Maximilian Heiden, presenter Fritz Egner, cabaret artist Willy Astor, musician Michael Braun (Haindling) with Brigitte, Curt Cress with Claudia, Yaris Makkay, actors Christof Arnold with Petra, Markus Böker, and Michel Guillaume, concert impresario Mario M. Mendrzycki, author Gaby Hauptmann, and former tennis professional Sabrina Jolk.

The evening was complemented by a stylish catering service from
Burger & Lobster Bank, harmoniously enhancing the artistic setting.

The event concluded for invited guests with a small surprise: an exclusive gift bag from
asambeauty, filled with selected luxury care products.

Djamila Fierek (née Mendil) was born in 1966 in Wiesbaden. She attended the Free Art School and completed her Abitur at Wiesbaden’s Oberstufengymnasium Moltkering. From 1985 to 1991, she studied Fine Arts at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, earning a Magister degree. Since 1991, she has worked as a freelance artist in Munich and Scottsdale, developing numerous artistic phases, experimenting with diverse techniques, and exploring a wide range of motifs over more than three decades. With her new “Soundscapes” series, she expands her artistic repertoire with an abstract visual language.

The exhibition is on view until March 31 at Steinway & Sons, Maximiliansplatz 1b, 80333 Munich.
