Andreas Purucker’s Debut Novel “The Max Method” Celebrated in a Special Book Launch.
Almost a year after its originally planned date, Andreas Purucker’s heartfelt project finally became reality: the presentation of his debut novel “The Max Method.” The Munich-based author, who passed away far too early in August 2025, had always envisioned introducing his book to the public in a special setting. This wish was fulfilled last night at Steinway & Sons Munich, thanks to the support of friends and companions who made his dream come true.
Following Andreas’ sudden illness in early 2025, he had requested that all promotional activities be postponed so he could focus entirely on his recovery. Even in the summer, he asked for patience while hoping to organize a reading event in the fall. Sadly, on August 15, he passed away.
Despite this profound loss, it soon became clear: Andreas’ story had to be told. With the dedicated support of close friends, Joe Plakinger of Steinway & Sons Munich, the outstanding musicians Alex Grünwald and Tim Wilhelm from the legendary band Münchener Freiheit, and Alex’s daughter Gloria Grünwald, an acclaimed radio host who performed the female part of the reading—Andreas’ vision was brought to life.
“The Max Method” tells the story of Max, a Munich-based man in his early fifties who discovers the world of online dating after a painful breakup. With humor and emotional depth, the novel follows Max on his journey, capturing his highs and lows while offering valuable insights into modern dating life.
The book launch was a moving evening filled with memories, music, and stories. Friends, family, and literature and music enthusiasts came together to celebrate Andreas’ work. An event that brought his heartfelt wish to life and ensured that his story lives on.
Among the guests were actors Markus Böker, Branko Buchberger, and Cornelia Corba, host Armand Presser, director Christine Hartmann, PR professional Uschi Ackermann, musician Michael Braun (Haindling) and Ute Kassner, Client Ambassador at Louis Vuitton.
Born in Munich in 1965, Andreas Purucker was a multifaceted artist: screenwriter, video producer, publisher, and professional drummer. With his debut novel, he ventured into fiction and leaves behind a work that moves, entertains, and inspires.
“The Max Method” is not only a book about love, relationships, and self-discovery, but also a testament to Andreas’ passion for storytelling and for people.
Proceeds from the first edition of the book will be donated to the Udo Lindenberg Foundation.
The book is available in paperback, hardcover, and as an e-book from bookstores.
